A moderately strong 5.0 magnitude earthquake struck Texas on Thursday, the US Geological Survey said.
The quake struck at 5:21 a.m. Central Time about 60 miles northeast of Amarillo, Texas, according to the agency.
The USGS previously reported a magnitude of 4.4.
As seismologists review the available data, they may revise the earthquake’s reported magnitude. Additional information gathered about the earthquake could also prompt USGS scientists to update the aftershock map.
