
Anthropic uses TCS to scale enterprise AI deployments
Anthropic is partnering with Indian IT giant Tata Consultancy Services in a bid to accelerate enterprise adoption of its AI models.
The partnership TCS will create a business unit focused on deploying Anthropic AI models for its customers. TCS will also get early access to new model releases, which it says it will use to build experiences, and provide Anthropic’s Claude AI assistant to its 50,000-plus employee base.
The companies said they will develop solutions for sectors such as financial services, healthcare, telecommunications and aviation.
Frontier AI companies provide enterprise sales channels by partnering with firms such as TCS in India. Anthropic earlier this year merged with Infosysand OpenAI roped in Infosys and HCLTech to do something similar.
In addition to the enterprise deployment, the partnership spans multiple TCS businesses and platforms. Diligenta, TCS’ UK life and pensions business with more than 22 million customers, plans to use Claude for customer service and process automation. Similarly, TCS iON, the company’s digital learning platform, will offer training and certification programs based on Anthropic models.
TCS said it will contribute to Anthropic’s Claude Code ecosystem, including claims processing and credit advisory tools.
Anthropic is working to expand its presence in India, which the company said is its second largest market. Over the past year, the startup has received opened an office in the country hired for management positionsas well as expanding ties with large firms that provide IT services.
The deal is going as investors and technology companies have begun to question the viability of India’s $315 billion IT services sector amid the rise of AI. TCS and Infosys shares have fallen around 34% and 31% respectively this year.
