Former Indian captain MS Dhoniwho was present at the stadium to watch the contest, once again reminded the fans why he continues to enjoy immense admiration across the cricketing world.
Almost six years after his retirement from international cricket, Dhoni remains one of the biggest contributors to the sport. As the cameras watched him during the match, the Edgbaston crowd erupted in applause. However, it was a heartfelt interaction with a young fan in the stands that grabbed attention and quickly went viral on social media.

The touching moment came when a kid sitting next to Dhoni offered him some popcorn while the former India captain was enjoying the game from the stands. Known for his humble nature, Dhoni happily accepted the gesture with a smile and thanked the teenager before enjoying a few morsels. A few minutes later, the kid offered him popcorn again, but this time Donnie politely declined, indicating that he had had enough.
The delightful exchange won an instant fan following on social media, with many praising the legendary wicket-taker for his simplicity and kindness. The video quickly went viral on the internet, becoming one of the most shared moments since the opening of the ODI.

India outclassed England to take a 1-0 lead in the ODI series
On the field, India produced a clinical all-round performance to register a comfortable six-wicket win over England to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match ODI series. Despite being asked to bat, England were bowled out for 258 balls in 48 overs Joe Root no defeats 76 and Liam Dawson struggling 68. India staged a magnificent comeback after reducing the hosts to 107 for 6, with Axar Patel starred with excellent figures of 4 for 62. Prasidh Krishna claimed two wickets, and jasprit boomrah and the rest of the pace attack kept constant pressure on England’s batting line-up.
In reply, India reached the target with 28 balls to spare. Captain Shubman Gill led the way with a classy 80 before retiring injured with cramps, while Axar remained unbeaten with 57 and Washington Sundar finished with an unbeaten 52 to send the visitors home. Despite the early dismissals Rohit Sharma and Virat KohliIndia remained in complete control for most of the chase to seal an impressive win at Edgbaston.
