The Masquerade officially joins Dungeons & Dragons

This spring, the “White Wolf” is back in a big way. The publishing company behind the World of Darkness tabletop RPG series, which includes Vampire: The Masquerade, Werewolf: Apocalypse, Hunter: Paybackand several others, my great Vampire: The Masquerade– figurative surprise debuted at Gen Con 2026. Current TV series Dimension 20 currently running his first Vampire: The Masquerade company. and now Vampire: The Masquerade officially intersects with Dungeons & Dragonsbringing a whole new class of vampires to the game.

Vampire: The Masquerade-Bound by Blood is an officially licensed app created by Ghostfire Gaming, which brings Kindred (VTM‘s name for vampires) class to Dungeons & Dragons 5.5e. According to the product description on D&D Beyond, Bound by Blood is “a full-fledged vampire class based on blood points, disciplines, and the ever-clawed Beast within! Included in this release is an exciting Dark Ages adventure.”

Paradox Interactivewhich owns White Wolf, added more context in a post on its website: “This project was lovingly created by Ghostfire Gaming, the talented team of designers and D&D experts behind the excellent Grim Hollow. What they’ve created is a complete vampire class for fifth edition Vampire, with blood points, disciplines, beast, and Dark Ages adventures, and it’s a great way to bring a piece of the Dark World to a table that already lives in 5E D&D.”

Currently, there is no official vampire class Dungeons & Dragons. A character can be bitten by a vampire and develop vampirism, and there is a sort of half-vampire “Dhampir” line available in Van Richten’s Guide to Ravenloft source, but none of them are fully developed character classes. The Kindred class might be perfect for you if you’ve always wanted to play a vampire D&Ddepending on how well Ghostfire integrates Vampire: The MasqueradeThe mechanics are very different Dungeons & Dragons system.

Vampire: The Masquerade-Bound by Blood pre-orders open later this month, and the product will launch on D&D Beyond sometime in July.
