Francisco Lindor’s name has been around in trade circles ever since the New York Mets implicitly stated that he is not untouchable at the trade deadline. He still has more than five seasons left on his 12-year, $341 million contract and is owed nearly $160 million.<\/p>\n
It’s not that Lindor hasn’t performed at a certain level. Indeed, his .176 average with a .596 OPS in his first 18 games back from the injured list with a left calf strain is a little concerning, but he’s been able to turn that around after a slow start over the years.<\/p>\n
Lindor being on the trade block has more to do with the atmosphere of the clubhouse. After Juan Soto was signed by the Mets last season, things did not settle between the two stars, even though both admitted there was no animosity between them.<\/p>\n

If I make 13 mistakes in 150, 160 games, fine. But six mistakes in 43 games? Basically, it’s April for me. It’s not good.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Lindor made a throwing error on a relay throw to third base in the sixth inning of Saturday’s 6-1 rout of the Phillies.
