She faced eighth seed Kaitlyn Quevedo for a place in the summit clash. The first set almost slipped away from Waltert after she was broken twice to fall behind 5-2.<\/p>\n<p>However, Waltert stopped Quevedo twice and won the next five games to take the set away from her opponent. Starting in the second game of the second set, four breaks of serve were made in a row. Waltert ended the back-and-forth by winning the last three games of the match to win 7-5, 6-2.<\/p>\n<p>Badosa didn&#8217;t drop a set en route to the semifinals, ousting Marina Basols Ribera, sixth seed Emiliana Aranga and Varvara Lepchenko. In the semi-finals, she met Yulia Putintseva, seeded third. Waltert has lost 17 games this week <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportskeeda.com\/player\/paula-badosa-gibert\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-is-sponsored=\"false\">Badosa<\/a> lost 24 games. The latter never dropped her serve in the previous round. Both reached their first final of the season. <\/p>\n<p>Badosa also reached her first final since triumphing at the 2024 Citi Open in August. Waltert reached her first final since winning the WTA 125 tournament in Brazil in October 2025. This year, Badosa has posted a 6-4 record on clay, while Waltert is 14-8 on the surface. However, only two of her 14 wins have come against top 100 players.<\/p>\n<p>Although Badosa is not currently in the top 100, her level is much higher than this. It even beat <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportskeeda.com\/player\/cori-gauff\/news\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-is-sponsored=\"false\">Coco Gauf<\/a> ahead of Wimbledon a few weeks ago. Although Waltert played quite well this week, none of her opponents were anywhere close to Badosa&#8217;s level.
