Even with Monday&#8217;s gain, Alphabet is still tracking its worst month since last February, with six of the past seven weeks in the red. This marks a sharp reversal from May, when the company briefly went dark <span class=\"QuoteInBody-quoteNameContainer\" data-test=\"QuoteInBody\" id=\"RegularArticle-QuoteInBody-4\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/NVDA\/\">Nvidia<\/a><span class=\"QuoteInBody-inlineButton\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistContainer\" id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\" data-analytics-id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\"><button class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistButton\" aria-label=\"Add To Watchlist\" data-testid=\"dropdown-btn\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-addWatchListFromTag\"\/><\/button><\/span><\/span><\/span>    after hours to become the world&#8217;s most valuable company by market capitalization.<\/p>\n<p>Dow&#8217;s incorporation into Alphabet is more symbolic than mechanical. Alphabet did not respond to multiple requests for comment on reports of Meta Gemini&#8217;s use.<\/p>\n<p>Access to computers has also become a recruiting tactic. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2026\/06\/18\/google-gemini-co-lead-noam-shazeer-leaves-for-openai.html\">Noam Shazir<\/a>a former Gemini executive who recently left Google for OpenAI reportedly cited declining access to computing as part of his frustration.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, Chinese models are slashing prices as Google tries to build an enterprise business around Gemini.
