The United States, Great Britain, Australia and 18 other countries called on Iran to stop “deadly plots and other acts of villainy” in Europe, North America and Australia.<\/p>\n
In a joint statement issued on Wednesday, the group of countries, which includes Canada, France and several other European countries, said Iran has a long-standing relationship with “international and local criminal groups,” adding that “their use of these groups is deplorable.”<\/p>\n
“Attempts to kill, kidnap, harass, intimidate or otherwise attack people on our soil undermine national sovereignty and international norms,” \u200b\u200bthe bulletin said. “These actions must be stopped immediately.”<\/p>\n
The group attributed nefarious activities to Iran’s powerful Revolutionary Guard Corps; its Quds Force, which manages foreign operations; and the Ministry of Intelligence and Security of the country.<\/p>\n
He also condemned the “recent campaign of attacks across Europe targeting Jewish communities, Iranian journalists and US interests, which are being responded to by Harakat Ashab al-Yameen al-Islamiyya and supported by their proxies.”<\/p>\n
The seemingly pro-Iranian group Ashab al-Yameen, whose name translates as the Islamic Movement of the Companions of the Righteous, has claimed responsibility for a series of attacks on Jewish communities in Britain and Europe over the past few months.<\/p>\n
In an interview with CBS News in March, a spokesman for the group said, “We will continue to threaten US and Israeli interests around the world until we avenge every child in Gaza, Iran, Lebanon and the resistance countries.” <\/p>\n
