Ex India bowling coach Bharat Arun has done a great job in developing and nurturing the young fast bowlers. He brought up a young, raw talent, Mohammed Sirajduring his tenure with the Indian national cricket team. Arun was part of the coaching staff of the winning Indian team The border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) in 2020-21.
Bharat Arun first discovered Mohammed Siraj’s talent when he was bowling in Hyderabad in 2017. After that, he helped the speedster break into the Indian Test team in 2020. Now Arun is looking for a new Siraj.

Speaking to Indian Express, Bharat Arun praised Mohammed Siraj’s journey and also emphasized that young bowlers can emulate him in their own way and it can help Indian cricket. Arun runs a cricket academy called Coaching Beyond in Chennai and Hyderabad along with former head coach Ravi Shastri and R Sridhar.
“Siraj is a great role model for other young up-and-coming fast bowlers. And in our own way, we want to do something with Coaching Beyond. It’s not only a challenge for us, but I think it’s also one of the ways to do something for Indian cricket.”
“And more than anything else, to pick a talented boy and give him the right kind of inputs at the right time. Inputs, I don’t mean just technical inputs, it will be tactical, it will be physical, it will also be mental,” Arun told Indian Express.
Bharat Arun shares his verdict on the young pacers
The former Indian bowling coach also emphasized that there is a lot of talent in India and there are a lot of fast bowlers in the country and they don’t have the best facilities in the country so they need proper attention as well as good preparation.
“There are a lot of fast bowlers in this country. And most of those fast bowlers don’t have facilities around the country.”
“Even though they might be exceptionally talented, they don’t have enough facilities. First is the affordability factor. Sometimes there are players who come from different walks of life and they can’t afford it. Or they don’t have access to any good materials to hone their skills.”

Arun also said that he has produced some of the best bowlers in recent years and there are some talented bowlers lurking around who will be challenging in the near future, mentioning Awqib Nabi who has been outstanding for Jammu and Kashmir of late.
“So I think looking at the recent past in Indian cricket, I think there are some exceptionally good bowlers hiding in various nooks and crannies of our country. And I think it would be interesting to tap into that potential,” he added.
He concluded by saying that he enjoyed his time as coach of the Men in Blue, “Continuing as coach of India, yes, I’ve had my time with the team. It’s been a very enjoyable job. I think there’s a lot of work to be done on all of this to contribute more to the development of cricket in the country.”
