Three more schoolchildren died from injuries sustained during the fatal accident bus accident in eastern Ugandabringing the death toll to 23 children and one adult, police said.
The bus carrying dozens of students and their teachers from King David Junior High School in Kampala was returning to the city from a trip to Sipi Falls on Thursday evening when the accident occurred.

Police investigators said the driver lost control of the vehicle in the village of Chequatit in Kapchorwa District, overturning the bus and hitting a large rock.
The six dead have not yet been identified, and the adult who died in the accident is believed to be the founder and head of the school.
Dozens of children were taken to the hospital, 23 of the victims are still being treated at the Kapchor Hospital. Three other vehicles on the same trip returned home safely, police said.
Uganda’s Ministry of Education and Sports on Friday ordered the suspension of school trips across the country to conduct a “comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding the recent accidents involving school children”.
Police also announced that they would “provide an escort to ensure the safe return of students to their respective schools.”
Uganda has one of the world’s worst road safety records, with accidents often blamed on poorly maintained vehicles and roads, as well as speeding.
Earlier this month, 14 people were killed when a bus and a truck collided in northern Uganda. In October at least 46 people died when two buses collided on the highway.
