World, Solana’s mysterious project that garnered millions of views on X with little more than a glowing globe, cryptic messages, and the tagline “Trade Everything,” now operates as a fully on-chain prediction market inside Phantom.
The platform resides online at world.xyz and in the Phantom wallet on iOS, Android, and desktop, with Chainlink serving as the oracle’s core infrastructure for its data.
Users can trade contracts for events related to crypto prices and the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with additional markets in sports, geopolitics and macroeconomics planned for the near future, according to an announcement shared by CoinDesk.
Universal account world_xyz gained attention through social media posts that offered scant product details, fueling speculation that the project could be a meme coin, a trading app, or the broader Solana infrastructure. Copycat WORLD themed tokens have appeared on the token launchpad, although these tokens are not official World assets.
The identity of the platform remained hidden until late June, when X’s legal information appeared on Phantom’s website.
Instead, World is a no-holds-barred prediction market where users can trade directly from their Solana wallets, with funds only moving when they enter the market. Positions, settlements and redemptions happen in a chain.
