There is a high probability of this Kawhi Leonard can go back to Toronto Raptors through trade. His future with LA Clippers unspecified and has been mentioned in trade rumors over the past few weeks. According to The Stein Line’s Jake Fisher, the Clippers and Raptors have had “genuine trade discussions” regarding Leonard.

It’s been seven years since Leonard led the Raptors to an NBA championship and left them to sign with the Clippers. With his imminent return to Canada, fans online have gone wild over the idea of the seven-time All-Star playing for Toronto again.
Here are some words from fans.
“Making a Knickerbocker cork,” said the fan.
“already seen” read another comment.
“Great trade drop for regular-season-only Ingram for Kawhi, who may not play most of the season but will undoubtedly show up in the playoffs” said one fan.
However, other Raptors fans didn’t like the idea of Kawhi Leonard coming back.
“WHY did you trade a 28 year old for a 34 year old 😂😂🤦♂️,” someone commented.
“Please don’t. We cannot restore the past. We need to look to the future.” read the comment.
“That would literally be the dumbest move EVER” – commented one fan.
Another former team of Kawhi Leonard is interested
According to Bobby Marks of ESPN, Kawhi Leonard’s past clubs are interested in dealing him amid discussions regarding his future with the Clippers. In addition to the Raptors, Marks said the San Antonio Spurs have begun monitoring his situation in Los Angeles.
“He has the right to an extension, he has two years left. I mean, I think a lot of teams in the playoffs are watching what happens with Kawhi Leonard,” he said during coverage of the 2026 NBA Draft on Wednesday.
His co-host, Malika Andrews, was curious to find out which teams were following Leonard. Marx said this:
“Maybe his former teams.”
The Spurs recently completed a remarkable run in the playoffs, led by a young core of the team. However, they lost in the NBA Finals against the New York Knicks. One of the problems they had was a lack of offensive options and veteran experience, which Kawhi Leonard could solve if he was traded to San Antonio.
Leonard and Victor Wembanyama would be an interesting duo as they are both excellent scorers and elite defenders. But the Clippers could ask the Spurs to include several members of the team’s young core, something San Antonio may not want to do.
