Emma Raducanu withdrew from Wimbledon due to injury the night before the opening match.

The British No 1 was due to face Croatia’s Antonia Ruzic in the first match on Court 1 on Monday but confirmed on Sunday night that she would not be taking part.

Raducanu has been nursing a right calf injury since reaching the final at Queen’s earlier in June, but concerns about her participation at the All England Club were raised on Saturday when she interrupted a practice session in which she was seen wearing shin straps.
