DMX’s ex-wife speaks out after their son claims she’s the rapper’s ‘original family’
According to TheGrioOn Friday, June 12, officials in Yonkers renamed the intersection of School Street and Brook Street “Earl ‘DMX’ Simmons Way.” According to the agency, two co-founders of Ruff Ryfers, DMX’s family and fans participated in the ceremony.
During the opening, the speeches of the deceased rapper’s family members were heard. Desiree Lindstrom, DMX’s fiancee and mother of his youngest son, took to the stage to identify herself as one of the members of his estate. However, when DMX’s eldest son Xavier Simmons took the stage, things seemed to turn around. While on stage, Xavier stated that the ceremony could not be complete without hearing from “his father’s whole family”.
According to the outlet, Xavier even chastised Lindstrom for behaving “dishonorably.” Specifically, Xavier alleged that Lindstrom excluded the rapper’s children and ex-wife Tasher from the festivities.
These remarks apparently led to Xavier being mic’d up. In the end, Tasher seemed to weigh in on what happened, calling Lindstrom “the devil.”

The late rapper’s youngest son made headlines years before his son’s current statement
Before DMX’s oldest son made headlines, his youngest son was making headlines. How Shadow room previously reported Exodus Simmons made headlines in December 2023 when Lindstrom shared a clip on Instagram of him playing his father’s song “X Gon’ Give It To Ya” on the piano.
“Happy birthday Earl! Always thinking of you but especially today. You were New York! Tribute to you Exodus! (X gonna give it to you) We love you baby! #ForeverX,” Lindstrom captioned the touching clip at the time.
